Listen Now: Gaga Covers “I Want Your Love”

After a year of singing jazz alongside Tony Bennett, Gaga has taken on another genre: Disco!

The singer, and new star of ‘American Horror Story’, teamed up with Nile Rodgers to revamp the 1979 classic “I Want Your Love” by Chic for Tom Ford’s Spring/Summer 2016 collection.

The track features alongside a fashion film, released in conjunction with Paris Fashion Week, directed by Nick Knight, which sees Gaga dancing down the runway alongside models Mica Arga, Lexi Bolling, Kayla Scott, Xaio Wen Ju, Valery Kaufman, Aymeline Valade, Lida Fox, Lucky Blue Smith, Alex Dunstan, David Agbodji and Tarun Nijjer.

Another noticeable feature in the video is Gaga’s old dance partner, Mark Kanemura, who was a fan favourite in the Haus of Gaga before parting ways after the Born This Way Ball.

Ford was noticeably absent from the runways throughout Fashion Week with no explanation, but now the reasoning behind his controversial desicion has been revealed.

The ARTPOP singer previously teased the secret track after posting a picture alongside legendary guitarist Rodgers.

Nick Knight revealed: “Instead of having a traditional show this season, I wanted to think about how to present a collection in a cinematic way that was designed from its inception to be presented online,” fashion designer Ford explained of the video on his official website.

“I have always loved Soul Train, which used to be on TV in the ’70s, as it was as much about the clothes as the music.

“I asked Nile Rodgers to collaborate on a new version of one of his great hits from that time, ‘I Want Your Love’, and worked with Gaga to record the vocals.”
