Those watching the X Factor this evening were in for a treat, forget the wannabe karaoke contest, Queen Adele released an advert for her latest music.
The ad, which we can only assume to be Adele, featured a short snippet from a track, alongside white subtitles on a black background, finishing with a teasing ellipses.
No date, no album name, not even a mention of Adele, if there were ever a person unaware of the soulful songstress may not have even realised what the clip was in reference to. Relying completely on vocal recognition the trailer was a risky move but the audience appears to have universally praised the move.
Within seconds Twitter exploded in a mixture of confusion and excitement, with the majority tweeting her praises once more. Though there were those who complained the 20-second clip sounded too much like her past work.
Critic and commercial favourite, the London born singer skyrocketed to success after a stellar second album that garnered tonnes of awards including Grammys and an Academy Award. The singer can do no wrong, and we’re sure with her upcoming third album, she will concur once more.
Previous rumblings of an Adele album have been occurring more and more lately, but this is the first tangible proof that a new record is on its way.
“Hello, it’s me, I was wondering if after all these years you’d like to meet, to go over everything. They say that times meant to heal ya, but I ain’t done much healing…”
