In The Glass Closet: Jonathan Bennett

This instalment of the glass closet is less glass more super thin plastic cabin, he has all but said those three words “I am gay”.

Since hitting the scene on Mean Girls, Bennett’s career may not be on the same level as the leading ladies, but he’s doing okay for himself starring in several movies and shows, even hosting MTV’s Copycat as well as Cake Wars. He even participated in last years edition of Dancing With The Stars where he came in…9th place.

Rumours began to swirl all the way back in 2005, a mere year after his biggest movie release Mean Girls when he was featured in an episode of My Life On The D-List with gay icon and notorious fag hag Kathy Griffin. Just being in her peripherally, let alone accredited as a “friend”.

2006 and a lengthy statement from an unnamed person who worked with the actor on straight-to-movie, Bachelor Party Vegas posted: “it was an actor named Jonathan Bennett. He’s had an up and down career, but most people know him from Mean Girls. It’s pretty well known in the business that he has gay proclivities, but often has a beard for public situations. I was involved with him and a few other people while working on a straight to video movie called Bachelor Party Vegas. Terrible project, low budget. The location schedule was like two weeks, and the budget equally tight. Jon’s boyfriend at the time was on set and spent a good deal of time with him at the hotel.”

In 2009 Perez Hilton, professional asshole and celebrity outer, dropped a bomb that the actor was romantically link to fellow gay actor Matt Dallas, and had previously banged Lance Bass. Good for Bennett getting around.

The following year in 2010 he uploaded a video to proclaiming “Love Is Louder” where he stated: “Of all people, I know how mean people can be to each other. I mean, we made a whole movie about it, it happened to me in high school, it happened to me in college [and] it still happens to me today. And I’m not gonna lie, it sucks. Sometimes it really sucks. But it doesn’t have to forever because there are people out there who love you, and love is a lot louder than hate.”

2011 and things get messy! Mr. Bennett’s other half posts a scathing statement on his page in reference to his beau. Rumours were that he was dating Travis Bryant, a gay YouTuber, and low and behold a mysterious “Travis B” uploads a status saying:

2012 and we finally gain solid proof of his fagdom, friend and fellow actor Nathaniel Buzolic (Vampire Diaries, The Originals) accidentally let slip he was gay during a Vampire Diaries Q&A before catching himself with an awkward “I don’t know if that’s public knowledge.”

A couple of years later in 2014 and a more public accidental outing comes in the form of DWTS judge Julianne Hough who in an interview with Mario Lopez said: “He tweeted at me last year and said I had a nice butt, and I thought, Oh he’s hitting on me—I should try to go on a date with him! He’s gay – so I was like, That’s not gonna work!”

Besides all of this damning information, the internet is inundated with numerous people claiming to have spotted, or even slept with Bennett on nights out in gay bars in WeHo for an entire decade solid. Sure straight guys go to gay bars, but every weekend for 10 years? It also doesn’t help that he’s kind of a man slut (no judgement) and young twinks with Twitter love to boast that they’ve banged Aaron Samuels.

The final piece of undeniable evidence is: He’s far to pretty to be straight. I mean just look at him!
