Lizzie Velásquez: The Worlds Most Inspiring Woman

If you’re ever having a bad day imagine being called the ugliest person of all time, this girl did and she made the most of it.

Lizzie Velásquez was only a teen in high school when she saw this written about her, while it affected her greatly she decided to rise above it and proceed with her life.

The American 26-year-old was born with a rare congenital disease that prevents her from accumulating body fat, among other symptoms. This led to severe bullying in her childhood before opening the torment up to a wider range of people when she hit the web.

Not only is she an amazing motivation speaker by sharing her stories and struggles, she’s also totally hilarious. Her humour and desire to help others through their own struggles in an inspiration in itself.

In 2013 she rose to fame when she gave a TEDx talk in Austin, Texas called “How Do You Define Yourself?”

She has released three inspirational books Lizzie Beautiful: The Lizzie Velasquez Story, Be Beautiful, Be You and Choosing Happiness.

In 2015 a documentary film of the figure titled: A Brave Heart: The Lizzie Velasquez Story, was released at SXSW.

We recommend spending some time immersing yourself in the presence of Velásquez, her words are inspiring and her passion honest and beautiful.
