Would anyone else seriously have taken the title of first #MCM of 2016? Colton Haynes has just blessed us with the news that he is gay, and we now have a hot, funny, intelligent, and kind high profile celeb on our team.
We first fell for Colton when he hit the screen in the unexpected MTV hit Teen Wolf. Alongside a ridiculously beautiful cast of hunks, Haynes stood head and shoulders above the rest as the one to watch as baddie Jackson Whittemore.
He impressed us with both his dramatic and comedy skills throughout his run, as well as his abs and beautifully crafted bone structure, before becoming the first of the central cast to leave in the season finale of season 2. Fans were devastated, but news emerged that Colton could have been forced out after show runner Jeff Davis reportedly wanted to cut his episodes from 24 to 12.
It wasn’t long until the actor found his feet again with his character Roy Harper on CW’s Arrow that he played for four seasons. One recurring, two starring and one special guest star.
Another bad-boy character he played love interest to Thea Queen and sidekick to Green Arrow, donning his own suit part-time as Arsenal. After a few seasons he chose to depart the popular show to pursue other work opportunities. Clearly the actor is restless, not content with a safe career he continues going from strength to strength.
Prior to his two triumphant shows he held a starring role in both Look: The Series, where he performed his first sex scene, and The Gates, a supernatural-crime drama. Both were cancelled after one season.
To round out his television success he has appeared in episodes of: CSI: Miami, Privileged, Pushing Daisies, Melrose Place, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, and TV movie Always and Forever.
Last year he performed in his first movie role, San Andreas alongside Dwayne Johnson and Kylie Minogue. His next feature will come later this year with Triumph, where he will star alongside Breaking Bad‘s RJ Mitte.
Colton started his career modelling at the age of 15 shooting campaigns for Verizon and spreads in Teen Vogue. Recently he has begun modelling again appearing in Abercrombie and Fitch’s “Making of a Star” campaign that appeared in stores around the world.
Colton Haynes will be our ‘Man of the Week’ every week this year. We are totally ready for him to kill it in 2016 now that he is living his life unabashed of any negativity or restrictions.
