Long are the days since we watched the Disney channel, but rest be assured the company is still there turning wannabe child stars into messed up adults. Their latest outsource? Bella Thorne.
The red-headed star made the rounds as a young actress performing small roles across tv and movies until she hit it big starring in her own Disney show Shake It Up. This led to her first starring role in a movie, also produced by the kids network, Frenemies.
After a mere three years with Disney, Thorne was done with the PG-13 way of living, and was ready to become a ‘grown up’ actress. She scrapped her works with the network, and cut ties from all her associations with its products, even her planned album was cut short as she explained:
“The reason why the album did not come out is because… look, I never wanted to really be an amazing singer. Honestly, I was tone deaf when I first got on the [Disney] Channel. I literally auditioned for Shake It Up! and I was like, ‘I don’t sing and I don’t dance. I have no idea why I’m here'”
From bubblegum pop star and teeny bopper she pulled a complete 180, debuting as a heroin-addict as she was casted in the made for tv Lifetime movie Perfect High. Her later movie roles saw her play a mean girl in the surprising CBS movie hit The DUFF, and performing a role in the less successful drama/thriller Big Sky.
Her upcoming list of films also seem to contain a few duds, including Amityville: The Reawakening (the fourth installment to the franchise), an indie flick Home Invasion, Awesomeness TV-produced Shovel Buddies, romantic drama Midnight Sun alongside fellow wannabe Patrick Schwarzenegger, and horror The Babysitter.
Her celebrity is clearly viable with the younger generation as she played the Drew Barrymore-esque first kill in Scream the TV series. She is more recently gearing up to play the lead in Marlene King’s latest television venture Famous In Love on Freeform. Though it looks likely to flop.
The eighteen-year-old starlet has drew much of her attention from her off screen antics, leading many to label her ‘the next Lindsay Lohan’. Firstly, the endless stream of guys she has dated.
Pamela Andersons grimy son Brandon Lee. Ryan Nassif, another celebrity son. Patrick Schwarzenegger (yes, ANOTHER celeb son), Tyler Posey, Jake T. Austin, Kenton Duty, Garrett Backstrom, Cody Simpson, Ross Lynch, James McVey, Stephen Lunsford, Tristan Klier, and as of now she is officially dating Gregg Sulkin. That’s THIRTEEN guys both rumoured and confirmed, at just 18! Way to go, looks like Lindsay 36 name sex-list is amateur hour.
Speaking of ex’s, she threw them all shade on Twitter posting: “if u are dating an ex of mine….there’s a reason they are an ex…so good luck :)” This wasn’t the first time she was vocal about her personal dislikes for someone as speaking to Seventeen magazine, she revealed her feud with a mean girl: ‘She’s in the business, and she’s very, very mean. I stay away from her at all costs. I never say hello to her. Her siblings are not mean like she is. It’s just her. One of the reasons I don’t like her is because she’s been a billionaire since she was very little, and she’s never had to work for anything in her life.’
Her partying, especially once she came of age, has become synonymous with her name, and the company she keeps are not the most stand up people. Rumours of drug-use have become rampant, and her selfies and photoshoots have become increasingly provocative since she was just 16.
Keep your eye on this one, we’re seeing DUI’s, rehab stints and a string of messiness in her future.
