Alan Rickman has sadly died . His death was confirmed on Thursday by his family who said that he died “surrounded by family and friends”.
The much-loved movie and theatre actor had been suffering from cancer, and passed away in London aged 69, the same age as Bowie a few days prior.
He is perhaps best known for his role as Snape in the Harry Potter franchise, or his turn as love-rat in Love Actually.
The British actor won a Golden Globe for his role in Rasputin: Dark Servant of Destiny, while he earned a BAFTA for his part in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves.
The actor also went gay for a role, alongside The Walking Dead‘s Norman Reedus, in Dark Harbour.
