We told you previously that The Rock Horror Picture Show is undergoing a remake starring Laverne Cox, but now Tim Curry is officially attached we are that much more excited!
Fox confirmed the casting choice at a TCA press tour yesterday, with the original star returning to play the criminologist. While remaking such an iconic movie is a difficult feat, having the go ahead from an original cast member is a bonus.
This will mark the legendary actor’s return to acting since he suffered a stroke that left him wheelchair bound in 2013.
Completing the new cast are Ryan McCartan and Victoria Justice as the new Brad and Janet, Broadway veteran Reeve Carney as Riff Raff, Adam Lambert as rocker Eddie and model Staz Nair will be playing Rocky.
Kenny Ortega, the choreographer behind High School Musical and Xanadu, is spearheading the project and our fingers are firmly crossed something spectacular will arise.
Speaking on his new role Curry simply said he was “happy and excited”, as are we.
