“Yes bitches it’s another Kardashian show, you love it.” Khloe Kardashian teases as she kicks off the premiere of her own variety talk show.
From the beginning you can see the Kardashian sister is trying to mix up the regular talk show format opting for a more chill vibe in a faux living room and kitchen set designed similarly to her own home.
With younger sister Kendall Jenner by her side for support you can tell the former X Factor host is nervous to be fronting her very own show, but she manages to combine both professionalism and a sense of casual ease more as the show progresses.
Kardashian’s friend Sharone Hakman acts as the eye candy for the show while mixing the infamous cocktails for the host and guests.
The guests of the night were Brandi Glanville, Kym Whitley, Aisha Tyler, and later on Snoop Dogg, who were all supportive to their friend dishing out the laughs and dirt. We were not expecting A-listers so their big personalities overshadowed that.
Playing out like friends gossiping around the table out home Kardashian managed to get info out of her guests without a grilling, allowing them to discuss at their will. Interesting moments also came from the guests chiming in with questions and topics of their own.
As with all shows nowadays the group played silly games, they were a bit of fun but nothing extraordinary. A hot-or-not choice of celebs, a ‘never have I ever’-type game and a re-enactment of the Farrah Abraham/Nicki Minaj feud.
The most awkward and surprisingly sweet moment came when Kendall prank called Kim Kardashian to tell her she was pregnant. Kim was actually quite supportive of the news and we even got hear the elusive Saint West.
The only negative of the show thus far is it seemed to be a little chaotic at times with guests often talking over one another when excited but real moments grounded the show through conversations about Khloe’s desire to have kids and a frank discussion about the Oscars race controversy.
Airing on FYI, the old Biography channel, the premiere aired to 347,000 viewers and will air every Wednesday at 10pm for the next two months.
Our Verdict: While it may not be must see tv, we’ll definitely switch it on in the background while we’re ironing.
