Another day, another celebrity turning their back on the glass closet. 2016 is turning out to be a banner year for celebrities shunning labels and embracing themselves and we’re so here for it.
George Shelley took to YouTube for a very brief 90-second video to discuss the matter of his sexuality. He stated that he has had girlfriends he loved, and boyfriends, though chose not to describe himself as bisexual as he rebuffed the notion of labels.
He titled the video “Hey! I’ve got something important to tell you…” alongside the hashtag ‘Be Yourself’ and spoke to the camera nonchalantly, addressing his sexuality for the first time.
The Union J singer previously took part in I’m a Celebrity… where he finished as runner up. His fellow camp mates Ferne McCann and winner Vicky Pattison were quick to congratulate his bravery on Twitter with touching messages.
Shelley is not the first member of the boy band to come out, as Jaymi Hensley is engaged to long-term partner Olly Marmon.
