Project Runway Season 1 Episode 11 Re-Viewed

With nine episodes and nine contestants down, we are finally ready for fashion week with our top three designers!

Heidi gives the designers their final task, create a 12-piece collecion for New York’s Olympus Fashion Week, in five weeks with $8000.

Through the design process Tim of course visited our top three designers in their homes to learn more about their lives and offer feedback on their work.

In preparation for the big day, the designers all reunited in a New York penthouse suite which lead to some confrontations over what went down on the show which had now begun airing.

Though their collection was now complete, the work was not over as the designers had to meet with Fashion Week producers, hold a model casting call, and meet with Michael Kors for last minute advice.

A last minute disaster was looming as Kara broke the rules of her contract by using free custom-made shoes for her collection, the weaselling around the issue rubbed her two competitors up the wrong way resulting in another verbal confrontation.

The day of the show, and through the excitement, Kara’s fiddling around the shoes didn’t work, and Jay and Wendy were missing models!

Guest judge Parker Posey joined Nina Garcia, Heidi Klum and Michael Kors for the final judging, and the past competitors looked on.

Kara debut her ‘Fantasy Fly Girl’ line first.

Wendy was up next with her collection.

Last to present was Jay.

Third: Wendy

Second: Kara

Winner: Jay

After being at the head of the pack all season it was quite shocking that Kara was bested by Jay at the last minute, but the reasoning was more than fair. In the end Jay’s final line did hold the most creativity and vision, and he was a worthy winner. Wendy performed well and definitely earned her spot in the final three with her collection.

We hope you’ve enjoyed re-watching season one with us, and until season two…Auf Wiedersehen!

Note: Apologies for the poor photo quality, this was long before HD.
